Update: 08.17.07 8:26PM - Hurricane strengthens to Category 4. Scorching heat blamed for 33 deaths in the south, Raging wildfires in the northwest, torential downpours with raging floods in various parts of the world, Collapsing bridges in Minnesota, Collapsing Mines in Utah, Tropical storms in Texas/Hurricane Dean in the Atlantic, and numerous reports of earthquakes internationally, Japan and now Peru. I think that the earth is a little pissed off.

"Market Days / Chicago / 08.11.07 - 08.12.07"

On August 11th and 12th, tens of thousands of people from across the country will converge on Halsted Street to celebrate the 26th annual Northalsted Market Days®. This event is the largest two-day street fair in the Midwest, and lives up to its reputation as one of the country's finest festivals! The event spans six city blocks, has 17 entrance gates and features three music stages with more than 40 musical acts performing. Many of these artists will be top-name, national headliners, giving Market Days a reputation for some of the best live music in Chicago. Market Days is also famous for its vast array of unique food, and arts and crafts vendors. Vendors from across the country apply for the privilege of showing and selling their unique wares to this huge, upscale crowd. On average, Northalsted Market Days® features 400 food, arts and crafts vendors.

It’s not your garden variety soda. This veggie-inspired soft-drink is available only in Japan, where it’s helping to keep the natives cool as a, well, you know. I think Pepsi's rivals should retaliate with Spinach Sprite and Dr Bell Pepper so we can skip the salad bar entirely and get all that green goodness in liquid form.
